...beta christmas party...

Tonight was our annual Beta Christmas party -
what a fun evening!
There are many traditions to this party, from the food to the games and even how numbers are chosen for the exchange game. It's a very fun evening!

One of the most fun traditions is the taped up gift. There is one gift that may be multiple boxes inside one another and they're all taped up as tight as can be with many layers. Your turn to try to get as much tape off as possible ends with the music is turned off. It usually circles the room a couple of times. People resort to nails, hidden pocket knives, and even stilettos. :) Check out the action:
We draw numbers and play the exchange game....there is lots of switching of gifts, planning and plotting.
Karen and Kara are famous for their rattling of gifts, smelling, shaking, and even peeking. Everyone has learned to wrap them up tight and no gift bags!
Kara opened the lid off a box and found this message:
Candace got to go home with the Figgy Pudding Quilt that I made...I think everyone had it at one point during the game, but it got to go home with her!
