.another week at the Lake.

We got to do some of our favorite things while at the lake this past week. Melissa’s friend Nichole came to spend some time with us. It was kinda overcast and rainy the first few days but then it warmed up and was beautiful toward the end of the week.

Mom & I joined Lois and Susie Strohmaier at the Chico’s Style Show at Hill’s Resort. Mom & I went last year and had a great time so it was even more fun to share with friends this year!

Poor Samson whines and cries when he’s left inside and everyone else is outside. He is so neglected.

We took Nichole to Sushi Wednesday – of course! My California Roll was so pretty – including the wasabi flower! It was one of the most fun nights at Hill’s this summer. The crowd was really fun and the music was great – as always!

This is what we have to do to Samson when other dogs come by the house. Our place is right on the road alongside the boat launch so there are many dogs each day going by. The association has a leash “law” but visitors don’t always follow it and come onto our lawn. You can imagine how territorial Samson and Coco are. When we cover Samson’s eyes, he doesn’t whine and bark as much.

Our favorite new drink is this “root beer float” with root beer, Pinnacle Whipped Cream Vodka, a little milk, and ice. YUM!

We trekked over to Cavanaugh’s for dinner on Friday night. We had a perfect view of the sunset and enjoyed the live singer while we played Progressive Rummy and had dinner.

Nichole was determined to get her name on our Progressive Rummy winners board so we played probably 6 or 7 times…poor girl, her name STILL isn’t on the board!
She and Melissa spent a lot of time repurposing jeans, t-shirts, and clothes found at the Coolin Maul (dump). They were very proud of their creations!

We’re back to the lake tomorrow. Dad gets to be there this week, finally! I’m also really looking forward to Nick, Kate, and Kamryn coming on Wednesday night. We did some meal planning today and are ready for a fun week ahead!

.tiffany’s bridal shower.

This afternoon, my Mom, Aunt Kim, Karlye, and Amber hosted a bridal shower for my cousin Kevin’s fiancé Tiffany. It was held at Tagaris Winery – which was a beautiful location!

It was a fun opportunity to use my new camera! I love the quality of pictures it takes!

We got some cousin pictures before everyone arrived.

We did a goofy shot…and I had just given Melissa a wet willie. hehe

They had lots of nice touches…

One of the best parts about the day was that my cousin Lisa is here right now from Virginia – so we got to spend the afternoon with her and her daughter Louise. Frances got to stay with Grandpa Doug. Louise was the star of the show! We all had a little photo shoot with Louise!

Mom made bracelets for Tiffany and Vicky…

Karlye painted these terracotta pots with chalkboard paint and then wrote love words on them with chalk. The one in Melissa’s right hand said “Attact.” It was supposed to say “attach” – but we were giving Karlye a bad time all afternoon for having “attack” as a love word. HAHA!!

Amber got a little bored ferrying gifts back and forth! She was jealous of us having a good time making the bow bouquet.

Frances “wrote” in this card for Tiffany and identified her drawings. So cute!

The bow bouquet! We made tissue paper flowers out of the damask tissue and made rosettes out of the white tissue.

.robin and will.

Last night, Mom and I went into Spokane to meet Melissa (who was getting a ride to Spokane from Kortneigh Kelly-Thank You!!) and then to meet Robin & Will Mangus for dinner. Robin and I met at Whitworth our freshman year when she lived in Shalom with Tracy. Then we lived together our junior and senior years in our duplex on Holland with Andrea and Courtney.

Robin and Will live in Boulder, CO and came to WA for a PNW visit for Robin's 30th birthday. I'm so glad we could see each other. It had been 8 years!!

We met at one of our favorite restaurants that we frequented in Spokane-Tomato Street!! It was just as delicious as ever. I love that they keep their menu virtually the same and haven't changed what works-the bread, the atmosphere, and the waiters writing their name upside down on the butcher paper on the table as they introduce themselves.

Thanks for taking time during your vacation to meet up with us, Robin & Will!!

I woke up to another beautiful morning at Priest Lake. Today the weather is a little chilly so I'm under a quilt snuggling with Samson while watching the Today Show. Bonnie & Jeff are coming today to spend some time with us!

This was Samson yesterday in the car....I think I'll start calling him Rip Van Winkle.

We got to go to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale yesterday. I love going to Nordstrom!! I ordered two pairs of shoes and got a sweet new iPhone cover. Melissa found some really cute clothes. I'm on the lookout for a chunky layered purple necklace (could go with crystal, rhinestone, or black too) to go with my dress for Kevin's wedding.

We made it back to the lake in time to go to Hill's for Sushi Wednesday & live music with Mike and Sadie Wagoner. That's one of my favorite things to do here!

This was the view from our deck this morning when I took Samson out. Looks like it will be an inside day. I brought some unfinished sewing projects that have been wasting space in the craft room for over a year now. Hopefully I can get those finished!
