Mom, Grandma, Mark, Kim, Melissa and I went to Spokane yesterday to celebrate Grandma's birthday and visit Amber. It was great to see her dorm room and meet her roommate and friends. We took Grandma to Green Bluff and celebrated the Apple Festival.

Mark's turning the big 5-0 tomorrow! Happy Birthday Uncle Mark!

Mom and Dad are leaving on their 12 day cruise to Canada and New England. I'm beginning to get a little jealous....

Cheer!

Check out these awesome CHS Eagle Cheerleaders at the Eagle's Nest BBQ!
We celebrated Melissa's 23rd birthday on Thursday with dinner with the fam at Michael Jay's. It was a crazy day for everyone, but hopefully Melissa felt loved on her birthday.
I also forgot to mention that August 29th was the 6th anniversary of Dad's accident. Glad to have that behind us.
Enjoy the Labor Day weekend...this lazy Saturday is much appreciated after this insane week at school.

Fun Wekend!

Mom, Melissa, and I went to Bellevue on Friday night to visit Mom's cousin Wendy, who is a 5th grade teacher in Issaquah. We went to her classroom on Saturday morning where Wendy shared many ideas and materials with Melissa. Wendy is a great teacher with so many creative ideas. I am sure Melissa's head was swimming with ideas!!

We got to go to our favorite - PF Changs - for lunch at Bellevue Square. So fun. So yummy!

Wendy wanted to take Melissa to the teacher supply store after lunch, so we spent some time around there. Melissa found some neat things for her classroom and got some good suggestions from Wendy of things that are needed for a beginning teacher.

We were all worn out by then and decided we'd like to spend Sunday at home, so we headed back to Connell.

We spent some time in Melissa's classroom this afternoon. Things are coming together and it looks ready for kids!! This week is going to fly by, but the beginning of school is always exciting!

Here you go...real proof that we went to the Martina McBride concert. She is an amazing woman! My favorite part was when she sang "Hit Me With Your Best Shot!" Gotta love Martina paying tribute to the classic Pat Benetar!

I'm back to school now...made it through 1 day of Inservices today. Lots of talk of PLCs and such. I have so many better things I could be doing...oh well.

Cheer practice started on Monday - we are working hard on preparing a dance/cheer/stunt combo for the 1st Day of School and Eagle's Nest BBQ. They are looking really good and are working better together than I thought! I will be sad when the basketball girls don't practice with us anymore. :(

Mom, Melissa, and I are heading to Bellevue this weekend to spend time with Mom's cousin Wendy. She's a 5th grade teacher and has lots to share with Melissa! It should be fun!! I'm looking forward to the WEEKEND!!

Oh...by the way...tonight was Samson's third night at Obedience School. I'm not completely sold on it, but it does take a lot more at home work than I'm able to do. Samson does great though - he's such a stud. :)

Summer Update

I've never created a blog before, but it seemed like a good summer project...Since I go back to school two weeks from tomorrow, I can see the end in sight. Better get started on those projects!

My family and I recently returned from Minnesota, where we got to spend time with our family (Hooley's and Koch's), visit DeWulf's in Park Rapids, and have a quick, but wonderful lunch with Jen! Most of the trip was spent in Stillwater with the Hooley's - whom we love!! Our whole family enjoys being with them and this time was no different. Some of the highlights were: quoting Borat day after day with Dennis and Sharon, grasshoppers at Max and Suzi's, and spotting birds in the yard with Anna. We met Ronda at the Mall of America, where Melissa proceeded to "barf in Bloomingdales" as soon as we got there. She spent the rest of the day sleeping in the car. Here's my souvenier from the MOA:

Lucky me! I've been checking this out for a long time...

Since we got home from MN, I've gone to Isidro and KayLynn's wedding, taken Melissa to the airport, went to Brynne's bridal shower, enjoyed relaxing time at home, and repacked my clothes for Priest Lake! Mom and I are leaving tomorrow morning for a few days at the lake.

We're staying until Saturday...we'll be heading to Pullman on Saturday to cheer on Emily at WA Junior Miss. Go Emily!

I'll post some pics of our time with DeWulf's when I get back - okay, Ronda?!
