on Saturday...

[ LAS VEGAS ]

Mom, Melissa, and I are spending three days in lovely 75 degree Las Vegas for Spring Break!

While there, we're going to stay here:

[ The Bellagio ]

And, we're going to:

and

I wasn't too excited when Melissa was making the plans a few months ago, but after the last few weeks, I'm ready for a vacation! After the WASL, Junior Miss, and Negotiations - and looking at my calendar for the rest of the school year - I NEED A VACATION! :)
Even better...would be winning big in Vegas...wish me luck!

[ Wish List ]

Just a few things I have on my wish list...

1. LASIK (the sooner, the better....but a root canal set me back for a while) And then my treat to myself will be Coach sunglasses in black:

2. Clip It Up - I can't imagine how cool this would be in my craft room. I just need more room....

3. This Gonzaga Sweatshirt...I'm not really sure why. Just feel a need to add to my college sweatshirt collection...right now it's limited to Whitworth and WSU!!

4. This Vera Bradley Garmet Bag...for all the travelling I do! ;)

5. Someday....this breakfast room and living room...(Pottery Barn inspired...)

Don't mind me...just daydreaming...

[ Happy Easter! ]

Got up early this morning to attend the Easter Sunrise Service that the Youth Group organized. It's definitely not my favorite thing to do, but I can manage once a year! After the Sunrise Service, breakfast was served at church - then I went home and vegged trying to make up for the two+ hours of sleep I lost by getting up early. I watched a few things on DVR ("Little People, Big World" and "The Real Housewives of New York") and snuggled with Samson.

We all went to church and then went to Richland for Easter dinner at the Shilo. It was a one-time-only kind of deal. None of us were impressed, but we made up for it by stopping by Starbucks on the way home. Now, Mom, Melissa, and I are catching up on "Big Love" and I'm downloading a few videos on iTunes for our trip to Las Vegas next week. Melissa promised me a trip to Burger Factory later for slushie floats and milkshakes! :) Gearing up for a busy week...looking forward to Spring Break!

[ Bad News ]

i just spent three freaking hours blog hopping...

well - at least i'm caught up - for now -

*Cheer*

Thought I'd share some pictures of the basketball cheerleaders from state. They had an awesome season and accomplished a lot. I'm so proud of them!

I loved coaching cheer - especially with Jessica. She made practices and games so much fun. I love her sense of humor and perspective on life. Jess - if you stumble upon this during 6-Degrees-Of-Separation-Blog-Style - You really don't know how much I'm going to miss you next year at school - especially during conferences! I'm so disappointed that I didn't get to know you better last year (well, earlier in life anyway). However, I can't wait for Emersyn's arrival. She will bless your life and your family in many inexplicable ways. She is going to be a great distraction at practices and much to Todd's dismay - she will probably learn a toe-touch soon after walking! :)

Blogging...

I was inspired to start blogging again because I have loved reading the blogs of my friends from high school. I admit that I'm a blog lurker, but I do really enjoy catching up on what is going on in their lives, seeing pictures of their kids, and getting back in touch with them. I am reluctant to share my blog with people because I don't feel like I have a very exciting life (at least not blog worthy), I'm not a good creative writer or journaler, and I just don't have the time or committment to keep my blog updated. I am going to try...I promise.

And now...a picture of my baby:

{S A M S O N }

It's been a while......

I can't believe how long it's been since I blogged. My life has been overwhelmed with Junior Miss, cheerleading, work, Youth Group, Beta (and the scrapbook retreat), etc. etc. etc. I thrive on being busy, but I really am looking forward to a less busy lifestyle for a while. People ask me "Are you glad to be done with {fill in the blank}?" but I don't feel as though I'm ever really done with anything:

  • Junior Miss continues throughout the spring with wrap-up parties, critique meetings, and parent meetings; not to mention attending programs in other communities and getting the girls started with parade season.
  • The cheerleaders sponsored a sparsely populated 80's dance last night and tryouts are coming up after Spring Break. After tryouts will be fundraisers, ordering uniforms, and then camp!
  • The youth group is planning a mission trip to Salt Lake City, Utah in June (i.e. more fundraisers, planning, preparing, etc.)

Don't get me wrong - I love being busy and I don't know what I'd do if I weren't (go crazy, I think...) but slowing down a little is nice every once in a while.
