I don't usually really get into the Presidential elections and I sure don't usually have two blog posts in a day, and maybe it has to do with the campaign being run from our house, but I've got to say that I'm really excited about the possibility of the McCain/Palin ticket for '08. I think Gov. Sarah Palin was a great pick for John McCain's running mate. I've heard some people say they think that John McCain just cost himself the Presidency, but I don't. I think a lot of people were excited about the possibility of having a woman in the Presidency, but just not Hillary...so to have Gov. Palin as the VP - wow. How cool would that be?!
It's also really neat that Gov. Palin is local - her parents have ties to the Tri-Cities, she was born in Sandpoint, and went to U of I!
I'm starting to get excited about the election now! I'm interested to hear and read all that I can. I found a blog written by John McCain's daughter that is on the campagin trail with him. It gives a more pop culture look at the campaign - and as much as I say I'm interested in the election, I don't always understand everything that is said. Pop culture - now that, I understand! :)
Anyway - if you're interested, the web address is: http://www.mccainblogette.com/.
I'm also looking forward to hearing what John McCain and Sarah Palin have to say at the Republican National Convention. I've subscribed to the podcasts, so I can get the speeches on my iPhone and listen to them on my own time. I also think it's commendable that John McCain is calling for a scaled back convention due to the hurricane that is heading toward New Orleans.
I really hope things are different in New Orleans this time around. I was looking at pictures tonight from my cousin Amber, who went on a mission trip with our church's youth group to New Orleans last summer. I was thinking about all the people that have helped rebuild after Hurricane Katrina and all the people that were affected by Hurricane Katrina - and to have to go through that again is unimaginable. Hopefully the system works better this time...
Wow - what a rambling post. If you made it this far - sorry!! :)
(P.S. If anyone knows how to fix the spacing, please let me know. I'm sick of not being able to double space between paragraphs!!)

I love this, and personally think it was a great strategic move on his part. I am excited as well to see the outcome.
Go McCain/Palin! I think its great!
It is so frustrating how lopsided the media is with this! The republican convention did not get great reviews at all on CNN from the reporters. Surprise, though? Not really!
This will be another election where I just pray and pray and pray. Thanks for posting this!!
Okay, I caught about half of her speech tonight, and WOW! She is just awesome...I am like you, I'm WAY more into it now that there's something to be interested in, IMO, that is! It is going to be exciting to watch from here on out!
Don't you think McCain did the smartest move out there?! I was so excited to hear he picked Palin! She's amazing, and I really think they've got a chance to win this whole deal of president or whatever they do HAHA jk... I sure hope so though.....
