.happy halloween.

Halloween was a fun day – a lot of the students dressed up, so that was fun. I wore a fancy headband with a zebra ribbon and bats on wires.

A Blue M & M and a giraffe stopped by my office a few times during the day…Crazies!

Lisa posted this picture of Frances & Louise. They are just too darn cute!

Mom & I were home to give out candy. I put this little hat on Samson & put an outfit on Coco. We didn’t have too many trick-or-treaters so we headed down to Grandma’s where she was handing out candy with Mark & Kim.

By the time we got to Grandma’s at 7:30pm, she was out of candy and had to turn off the lights. Nick, Kate, & Kamryn stopped by on their way home from Washtucna. Kamryn wasn’t so sure at first, but finally warmed up to us. I think she always thinks that Mom and I are going to take her, since that is what we usually do!

.beta halloween party.

We had our annual Beta Halloween Party the other night – as always, it is fun to dress up and to see what costumes everyone else thinks up!

IMG_3320

We had a smaller group this year for the party, but still fun!

IMG_3323

We had to go trick-or-treating around the neighborhood for canned food for the Food Bank. I grumbled at the beginning – since it was cold outside and, um, how embarrassing to show up trick-or-treating a week early?! It ended up being a lot of fun and we had a lot of laughs!

Maren took the lead and knocked on doors. She was dressed up as crayon and would say, “We’re trick-or-treating for food for the food bank…and school supplies!” Then, if they hesitated at all, she would yell at the people that opened the door: “Go grab a can of something!”
TOO funny!

We had dinner, opened Secret Sister gifts, and then went to Karen’s to trick-or-treat her since she didn’t come to the party!

Very fun evening – we missed everyone that couldn’t come!

.happy halloween!.

Whew! What a busy day! I dressed up for work today as Emma Pillsbury, the guidance counselor on “Glee.” I thought the students at school would recognize who I was right away, but no such luck. Hardly anyone dressed up at school – students OR staff! To keep in character, I stood in the hallway in between classes wearing yellow gloves and offering everyone hand sanitizer. I thought it was fun!

For cheer practice, Melissa dressed as Sue Sylvestor, cheer coach on Glee. I think our cheerleaders think we’re freaks. :)

At home, we had the trio of pirates to greet the Trick-or-Treaters. They were a hit!

Aunt Melissa found this costume for Samson. He took care of business as Sheriff Woody tonight! The hat didn’t last long, in case you were wondering!

Kamryn the cow stopped by for some treats. She was loving the candy part of Halloween!

Mom gave her some bubbles in her little trick-or-treat basket.

And, we got in some piggie time. I love playing “this little piggie” with Kamryn. She loves piggies and always signs “more!”

So glad Nick, Kate, and Kamryn could stop by for a little bit. I miss them when we don’t see each other for a few days!

My cousin Lisa shared these pictures of her sweet girls dressed up for Halloween!
Frances is Dora the Explorer and Louise is Boots the monkey. TOO CUTE!

We didn’t have too many trick-or-treaters here at the house. Mom, Grandma, Karlye, Melissa, and I had lots of fun hanging out together while we waited for people to come.
Now it’s time for the candy hangover and Halloween detox. Karlye, Melissa, and I *may* be hitting the Halloween clearance sales tomorrow to stock for next year! :)

.halloween: the beginning.

It seems like Halloween has already gone for a week around here. Melissa went to a party last weekend, then we had our Beta party on Tuesday, and tonight, Melissa & Karlye stopped by on their way to a party! The fun never ends!

These two are looking pretty hot!!

There’s already talk of planning for next year’s costumes. YIKES!

.zombie cheerleaders.

The cheerleaders were asked to help at the Mid-Columbia Library Halloween Party again this year. They wear mis-matched uniforms, paint their faces, and have crazy hair….and turn on the sass. I think they have a lot of fun with it!

Barbie stopped by on her way to another Halloween Party!

I hope they didn’t scare the little kids TOO much!

.halloween party!.

Last night was our Beta Halloween Party at Kara Mauseth’s. Mom, Kara, Martha Holt, and I were on the committee. It was very fun planning and preparing – and finding new ideas, thanks to Pinterest!

Dressing up was fun this year too. Melissa and I both commented that we used to dread Halloween and dressing up – but since we joined Beta, it’s a lot more fun!

Here’s the Koch' girls:

Marcie, the 50’s girl, Melissa as Barbie in a box, and Connie as a pirate

They stole the show!

Besides the pumpkin decorating contest, Kara hid glow in the dark bugs, spiders, skeletons, and other creepy stuff in the lot for teams to find! We had a yummy dinner and dessert and exchanged Secret Sister gifts!

Fun night!!

{ Happy [late] Halloween! }

I'm sure a lot of parents did not enjoy having Halloween on a Saturday, but I enjoyed it!

Mom, Melissa, and I went to the Tri-Cities. We previewed Melissa and Zeke's engagement pictures at Annette's, had lunch at PF Changs with Kate & Candace, shopped for Halloween costumes, and went to Heritage!
We got home and enjoyed the Trick-or-Treaters with Melissa, Zeke, and Grandma Marcial. There were some great costumes this year!
Melissa as a kitty (ironic that she hates cats) and Zeke as...
Bob! It was pretty funny to see people's reactions!
Liam the Frog and Ronan the Astronaut

Julia as Dorothy and Anna the cheerleader

Grace as a witch and Mattie Jean as a policewoman

(Funny story about Grace...her Mom cuts my hair (and colors, let's be honest) and was telling me on Friday when I was there that Grace was going to be a witch and her son Kelton was going to be a Skeleton. She said that Grace kept telling Kelton that she was going to use his bones for her witches stew to give it flavor. Tennelle said that she finally had to tell Grace to stop teasing Kelton because she thought Kelton was truly getting scared Grace was going to use his bones! Too funny!)

Delt as a monkey! He & Melissa are comparing tails....

Macie as a princess and Madison as a vampire

Allison the she-devil, Ashley the princess?, and Adam as Scooby Doo. (It was a little chaotic at the Koch household about that time, so I didn't get a good look at Ashley...sorry Ashley!)

Samson and I...I think he was kinda freaked out by all the people and commotion. He was very snuggly!
