Last weekend, my good friend Amy came and took my pictures with Samson for my Christmas card!
She did a great job – even getting Samson to focus after he got distracted by a bee!

Yesterday (that’s right – Saturday), Connell played in the first round of the 1A State Championships against Hoquiam. Thank goodness we earned the privilege of hosting instead of having to travel all that way.
It was pretty chilly for being a 1pm game. The steady breeze did not help at all.
The cheerleaders had been working all week to perfect this stunt routine for the starting line up. We’d tried it a few weeks ago and it did not work – so we needed to try again! This time they did much better!
One of the most exciting parts of the game was the debut of the new Eagle mascot! The class of 2010 donated the remainder of their money toward it and cheer pitched in the rest. It arrived this week and we were all pretty excited!
The girls did their dance again this week. When they performed it last week, it wasn’t as good as it could’ve been, so they decided to do it again. Good choice! They did it great this time! I recorded it and Melissa took pictures – so you have both!
(Hello again to Mr. Green Jacket. SERIOUSLY??)
The boys played hard yesterday and won the game, 56-14.
We move on to the quarterfinals now – we’ll play Chelan, but not sure where or when yet. We’ve already played and beat Chelan this year, so hopefully we can beat ‘em again!
It’s not a cake. It’s not a pie. It must be a dessert.
I made this for our Beta meeting last night and an extra to take to work today. (Surprise, co-workers!)
This is one of my very favorite fall desserts. And, luckily, it’s real easy.
15 oz can pumpkin
12 oz can evaporated milk
3 eggs
1 c. sugar
4t. pumpkin pie spice
Mix above ingredients and pour into a greased 9x13” cake pan.
1 box yellow cake mix
1 c. melted butter
1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts (I omitted)
Sprinkle dry cake mix on top of pumpkin mixture. Drizzle melted butter on top of cake mix. Sprinkle with nuts if you desire.
Bake for 1 hour at 350 or until the knife comes out clean.
Finally! Some finished projects coming out of the craft room!
If you only knew how many works in progress are around the craft room and how many ideas are floating around my head. It’s scary.
I finished these two table runners – FINALLY!
One will stay at the Koch’s and one will go to our church’s silent auction in a few weeks.
I finished the binding on this baby quilt – FINALLY!
It’s been sitting waiting for someone to love on it for a few months.
It looks kinda wonky, but it’s not intentionally that way!
I made this while at Priest Lake this summer.
I used a sheet for the backing – I really love how it dried – a perfect crinkly quilt!
This quilt was made with Kersten’s tutorial on Cluck Cluck Sew:
Before the game on Friday, I got to spend a couple hours with this sweetie. She had a great time playing with her toys and Samson!
The football game on Friday was a crossover against Naches – winner to state.
The fun thing about playing Naches? Getting to watch Chris Walker play QB! He’s number 18 in white. He did a great job!
The cheerleaders got to use the gold poms since we’re in playoffs now. This is VERY exciting! I never can manage to catch that darn “H"!
The girls got to do a lot of stunts – which we’re all happy about!
They got to do a basket toss a time or two at the end of the fight song.
The got to do the fight song a time…or two…or three…
They also got to be on the news!! They were the cute cheerleaders saying “and now! Back to the Friday Night Sports Finale!”
And finally, they debuted a new dance with two new stunts. I wish I had been keeping track of how many dances they’ve done this season. It’s an impressive number.
This dance had a lot of jumping in it – and it turned out really cool. I’ll post the video when I get it from Melissa.
Of course, we have lovely Mr. Green Jacket sitting RIGHT in front so NO ONE can get a decent picture. SERIOUSLY?! And the gator. Awesome.
(Sorry I missed pictures of your stunt, Madison – I was too busy watching how cool it was!!)
We won the game, 58-6! We’ll be playing again on Saturday at 1pm against Hoquiam at home! YAY! Love home games!
