.winterfest!.

This past week was Winterfest at CHS. It has been a few years since we had a Winterfest week, so it was fun to have a little distraction to get us through the last few miserable days before Christmas break. The ASB planned dress up days and an assembly on Friday. Everyone had a great time getting into the dress up days and spreading a little holiday cheer!

Monday was Cozy Day = the teacher’s favorite day! An excuse to wear pajamas/comfortable clothes to school!

Tuesday was Candy Cane Day, otherwise known as wear red and white to school

These two crazies come in my office a few times a day and have started to spend STAT in there. They love taking pictures of themselves on my iPad, so I finally caught a picture of them taking a picture of themselves. Seriously crazy girls!

Wednesday was Ugly Christmas Sweater Day! Grayson went all out – the Christmas tree even lit up! The lady that monitors the lunch accounts had this as her status on Facebook the next day: “Yesterday as the girls were coming through the lunch line I was telling them how much I liked their Christmas sweaters. In my opinion they were pretty. Just think how I felt when I found our it was ugly sweater day.” Hilarious!

Thursday was Dress Like a Teacher/Dress Like a Student Day. Another excuse to wear comfy clothes! The girls wear this outfit a few times a week – although it was easy to get ready in the morning, I do not know how they make it look cute! I felt like a hot mess all day!

 photo 1

A few girls asked, “who are you supposed to be?” and I’d look them up and down (because they were wearing the exact same thing) and say, “YOU!”

Friday was Extreme Purple and Gold Day, which is always a fun day to see the school spirit!

Great job ASB – fun week!

.homecoming football game vs. Riverview.

What a cold and windy night – not the best for watching a football game!

We got to have a little photo shoot before the game. The girls got super cute Homecoming shirts, although it was a little too cold to not wear a jacket!

I love the back of them!

IMG_3175

Kirston always has to freak out in the picture!!!

 IMG_3179

So everyone else joined in… :)

IMG_3181

I was trying to get one good picture to use to make Thank You notes out of…and Kirston has to dork out in another picture!!

IMG_3182

PHEW! Finally got one! Look how cute they are!

IMG_3184

Their halftime performance was to “Call Me Maybe” – thus, the "CALL ME” sign! :)

IMG_3186

Posers!

IMG_3193 IMG_3195

Not only was it Homecoming, but it was Senior Night too!

 IMG_3198

Kayla & Selena have been cheerleaders for 4 years…Madi & Sommer have been cheerleaders for 3 years.

 IMG_3199

I am going to miss them SO much next year. I can’t even remember cheer without them!

 IMG_3201

They make me laugh every day (and pull my hair out some days!). I have loved getting to share this experience with them!

 IMG_3204 IMG_3205 IMG_3207

The juniors!

IMG_3208

Senior Night!
Madi & Janae

   IMG_3212

The Benson’s – Heather, Eric, & Kayla

 IMG_3214

The Garcia’s – Arnie, Selena, & Crystal

  IMG_3219

The Boyd’s – Melinda, Sommer, Steve, & Liz

 IMG_3220

Sommer & Madi were the captains for the night! The seniors have been taking turns as captains. I think it’s worked out fairly well!

 IMG_3221

And my favorite cheer: Ola Ola AY! :)

IMG_3222

 IMG_3224

They had a rockin’ halftime performance! I was soooo proud of them! They worked really hard all week, including an early morning practice, to perfect this awesome routine.

The opening stunt was a double basket toss, barrel roll to an extension show and go. YEAH!

 IMG_3236

Plus a kick line – a favorite of this squad!

 IMG_3252

 IMG_3266

Madi flew an arabesque to extension – I love that!

IMG_3277 IMG_3279 IMG_3283 IMG_3285 IMG_3287 IMG_3290 IMG_3294

YES!!! Fantastic routine!

IMG_3300

The royalty was presented at halftime -

Here’s Carly & Garrett as the junior prince and princess.

 IMG_3307

Stayin’ classy!

IMG_3309

The Senior King and Queen: Carlos & Jenni

 IMG_3313

The Senior Prince & Princess: Stefan and MarciAnne

The actual football game didn’t fare so well….we lost to Riverview, 33-0. Jennifer told me that it’s the first time since 1999 that we’ve lost to Riverview. Sad day.

.Friday.

Today’s assembly was the best one yet! They packed so many great things into it – I think everyone really enjoyed it!

Even Madi!

IMG_3028

The staff played the seniors in Buff Puff volleyball – and lost by just one point in the final seconds!

 IMG_3029

Go Jennifer!

IMG_3031

The cheerleaders performed their dance to Call Me Maybe. They worked so hard this week – and it went wonderfully! I was so proud of them!

 IMG_3034 IMG_3035 IMG_3036 IMG_3039 IMG_3071

Get it girls! :)

IMG_3076

Isaac raised the roof with the Spirit Sombrero!

 IMG_3079

Tim & Todd’s Comedy Spot provided lots of laughs with their rendition of “Would You Look at That?!” – a spoof of a YouTube video. It was hilarious!

 IMG_3084 IMG_3086  IMG_3089  IMG_3092

The students had their phones out taking a video of it. Too funny!

IMG_3093

The final four Mr. CHS contestants did their talent.

Matthew Davidson sang

IMG_3098

The Eagle (who was awesome all week long!) was waving his wings along!

 IMG_3100

These sophomores had a great idea to bring in bean bags chairs to watch the assembly!

IMG_3101

Bergen Eskildsen did the Napolean Dynamite dance for his talent – perfectly! He stayed in character the entire time!

  IMG_3106

Jacob Jenks dunked the basketball – I think he even surprised himself that he made the basket!

IMG_3112

Kyle Jones did a rhythmic gymnastics ribbon routine to a Justin Bieber song.

IMG_3116

Then each class did a lip sync -

The freshman did their lip sync to “Call Me Maybe.”

IMG_3123 IMG_3127

The sophomores lip sync was to Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Getting Back Together” complete with Patrick Hadley as the lead singer!

IMG_3129 IMG_3131

The juniors lip sync was to “It’s Raining Men.” It took A LOT to get this to come together but it did and it was great!

IMG_3133

 IMG_3138 IMG_3140  IMG_3146

The seniors danced to “Ice Ice Baby”

IMG_3148

 IMG_3149

and then had glow in the dark shirts to Cotton Eyed Joe. They brought down the house…

 IMG_3152

…Until the teachers showed up…

IMG_3155

They always do AWESOME and this year didn’t disappoint! They had a flash mob to “Get Outta My Head” by One Direction and then really cranked up the heat to “Gangham Style!” The students went wild – they loved it!

 IMG_3156 IMG_3157 IMG_3158 IMG_3165 IMG_3167

The finale of the assembly was this game where 6 of the football players were blindfolded and had to guess which cheerleader kissed them on the cheek…

IMG_3169

…funny thing was --- it was their mom’s!

IMG_3170

So funny!

 IMG_3171

They were good sports – and it was hilarious!

Great assembly and a great way to wrap up the week!
