.two table runners.

I completed these two table runners over the weekend…finally got them washed and dried today!

This one is a pattern by Camille Roskelley (found here: http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/projects-ideas/bags-pillows/scrap-lab-table-runner-and-pumpkins_1.html). I used Autumn Bouquet by Denise Urban fabric that I found at Fat Quarter Shop.

I did straight line quilting the enhance the chevron pattern. It’s not very long or wide, but good for a kitchen table, which is exactly where it is going!

 

This pattern I found on Pinterest (link: https://sew4home.com/projects/table-linens/kitchen-confections-modas-vintage-modern-patchwork-table-runner) and I knew I had the exact Vintage Modern by Bonnie and Camille fabric in my stash! I did and it came together quickly!

 

I straight line quilted this every 1/2” or so. I love the effect it has!

This is a wedding gift for Mindy Gibbons and Mikel Terry. MindEE was a cheerleader the first couple seasons I coached with Jessica. I didn’t get to go to her reception because I was in Royal for the football game…which I guess was fitting. :)

.vintage modern.

Vintage Modern by Bonnie & Camille was definitely my fabric line of the summer! I made 2 quilts and 2 table runners with it!

These are two table toppers I made for wedding gifts.

I love this pattern. It’s the 2nd time I’ve made it and this time around was much more successful!

This was made at Priest Lake for Kaitlan Eppich and David Walker. I missed their reception, but got to give it to them while they were spending time at the Eppich cabin at Priest Lake!

This was made using the Dainty pattern by Thimble Blossoms and Vintage Modern fabric by Bonnie & Camille.

 

It’s hard to see in this picture, but I quilted diagonal lines through these small squares in the middle. I’m still a newbie at diagonal lines, but I like the texture it gave.

 

This one is for Briar Carlisle and Brianna Casper. It’s also made with Vintage Modern and the pattern is from Camille’s book, Simplify.

 

This one was also made at Priest Lake!

 

I love that the two table toppers I made at Priest Lake are for friends that love Priest Lake as much as I do. I think that’s extra awesome!

    

I think I need to make one of each of these for myself! :)

Tonight I got to meet

Abigail Grace Jevne

She was born on
September 10, 2011 (9/10/11), 7lbs, 19 1/4 inches long.

Seriously, how sweet is she?!

I’m so so happy for her mom & dad – Megan and Chris. They waited a long time for this princess! They have such a neat story about their journey to becoming parents. I hope Abigail always knows how much she was wanted and how so many people prayed for her arrival.

 

There is just nothing like holding a brand new baby. So tiny, so fresh from God…

I took this quilt to her. I think it will go with her shabby chic room perfectly!

My friend Jennifer, whom I met through work, had her baby girl yesterday!

I worked this weekend on completing Lillianne’s gift this weekend – just in time for her arrival!
I made this receiving blanket with her initial in the corner. It’s made from cotton so it won’t be too hot this summer. It’s my first time sewing rounded edges and they didn’t turn out too bad!

 

 

I love the back!! It’s so summery and cheery! If Lillianne is anything like her Momma, it will fit her personality perfectly!

I also made this little zippered pouch to in coordinating fabrics to go with it. Maybe it could hold binkys or something like that!

. sunkissed quilt for April .

Jessica started this tradition of giving the senior football cheerleaders a quilt for graduation. She and I have collaborated last year and this year to make the quilts. I’ll definitely carry on this tradition. :)

This quilt is for April Hadley. She cheered for football for three seasons and for basketball one season. She is an inspiring gal. I am pretty excited to give her this quilt!

I saw this fabric at Craft Warehouse and knew it would be perfect for April. The spring-y cheerfulness fits her personality perfectly!

I love this pattern too. It’s Skipping Stones by Cluck Cluck Sew. It’s the second time I’ve made a quilt from this pattern and I will be making more in the future. It’s pretty quick and easy!

Jessica and I had a quilting bee one day here at the Koch Craft Room. We got all the blocks done in one day. Then Jess took them home and sewed them into the quilt top.

I quilted it – in the same way I did the other one I made from this pattern. I did stitch in the ditch around each square – small and large!

I machine sewed the binding on the front side and then Jessica hand sewed the binding to the back. I think we make a pretty darn good team!!

. happy birthday jennifer .

Today was Jennifer’s birthday. We celebrated it up big by working on scheduling ALL stinkin’ day in my office.  What a day, right?! That’s how everyone would want to celebrate!  :) haha

I made this bag for her gift…it was a challenging undertaking, but I like how it turned out. I think I’d try to make the top and bottom more even next time. I love the “Make Life…” fabric by Sweetwater!

I HOPE (hehe) she enjoys it!

Happy Birthday Jennifer! I love working with you and you make coming to work fun – even doing mundane tasks! :) I learn so much from you and I appreciate all the little & big things you do to make my life go more smoothly. I don’t know what I’d do without you! Hope you felt celebrated today!

I got some happy mail yesterday in my mailbox at school. Usually it’s mostly junk or stuff to deal with, so happy mail was a fun surprise!

There was a very sweet note from Julie Hart along with this picture of Eric & Chafen’s baby, Hal. Hal is laying on the quilt that I made him!

I love making and giving away quilts – and I really love to see the people I give the quilts to love them as much as I do. Sometimes they’re hard to give away, but to see other people use them and love them makes it worth it.

I can finally share the rest of the gifts I made it for Christmas presents! Everything is with their intended owner!

This is my Pinwheel Sampler Quilt. I started it in…oh February 2010…and finished it in December 2010!
I LOVE IT!

I made it fully intending to gift it at our Heider Family Christmas Gift Exchange.

I even made it in fabric I didn’t think I’d love (Make Life… by Sweetwater).

I pieced the top together…Loved it. I had it quilted at the Village Quiltworks. I may have had to leave my right arm there as payment, but I LOVE IT!! The backing fabric is all paisleys and the quilting is done in paisleys. LOVE. Love. LOVE.

I learned a lot by piecing this quilt. It’s all pinwheels – which I learned I DON’T love – but I did it!! I spent many many hours with this quilt….it was really hard to wrap it up and not know who it was going home with. I made all the Koch’s pinky promise that they would fight their tails off for it.

It got passed around a lot in the game, but finally Grandma got it and no one wanted to be mean and steal it from her – so she got it! YAY! And – she said it could stay at our house! YAY! Whew!

This is my favorite block.

I made this little snuggly quilt for Kamryn. It is really really soft on the back – perfect for snuggling!

Ahh! So soft!!

Last, but not least, I made this camera strap cover for my friend Amy. It may have been one of the hardest things I’ve ever made! I used this Camera Strap Cover Tutorial by Amanda of Fonts for Peas.

I had to guess on the length and width, but Amy says it fits perfectly! YAY!
I used fabric leftover from Melissa’s Birdie Sling bag – so they’re sorta matching!

And now – done with the Christmas gifts – onto the baby gifts! The fun never ends around here!

I made a few Christmas presents for friends that I can share because they’ve already received them!

I made this Christmas tree on muslin and attached it to a canvas. I love how it turned out – I just wish the tree trunk had been centered a little bit. Ah well – it’s homemade chic, right?!

These two superhero capes are for Ronan and Liam Fife. They weren’t too sure what to think of them when they opened their gifts yesterday, but Jessica sent me a picture of Ronan running around in his later that evening. Hope they get lots of fun play time with them!

{ Beta Christmas Party }

Tonight was our annual Beta Christmas party! It’s always a lot of fun – full of traditions that get passed along each year.

The highlight of the night is the exchange game. I brought this quilt this year:

This is one that I made at Priest Lake this summer and had it quilted in Spokane. I like the braided look and love the fabric (Fruitcake by Basic Grey)!

The quilter did a fabulous job – there are different styles of snowflakes all over it with swirls.

We also revealed our Secret Sisters tonight. We have Secret Sisters from January 1-December 31. I had Kara Mauseth as my Secret Sister this last year. I gave her this table runner as part of her revealing present.

I love this table runner! It’s with Camille & Bonnie’s Cotton Blossoms fabric line. I actually sorta cheated…I bought this table runner top already completed from the fabric store in Chelan last year. I couldn’t leave it behind – it was so cute! I blanket stitched around each petal and quilted straight lines around the outside. I love it!

Melissa ended up with my quilt! Lucky duck!
