Something unfortunate happened this week….we ran out of kahlua. 
My Dad came to the rescue and made a QUADRUPLE batch yesterday!
KAHLUA
Make simple syrup:
1 quart boiling water
Add 3 3/4 cups sugar
Boil 5 minutes
Add:
1/2 cup instant coffee, slowly (Folgers Coffee Crystals works good)
Bring back to a boil
Cool slightly.
Add:
1 5th Vodka (100 proof works best)
Pour into 1/2 gallon jug
Add:
2 – 2 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla
YUM! Nick, Kate, Dave, Karen, and Kamryn came over for a crab dinner last night and we tried out the fresh kahlua. Pretty darn good! We had a great evening with good friends and Kamryn provided the entertainment!
