.cheer clinic day!.

Today was the Junior Cheer Clinic – a day full of LOTS of little girls with cute skirts and cute hair bows! We had about 75 girls participate in the cheer clinic today and 15 high school cheerios. The high school girls did awesome – because I know that, for most, today is not their most favorite cheer day!

Madison and Kayla did the cheer clinic as their senior project and while it wasn’t easy most of the time, they did great!

It was fun to see all the little girls playing games,

learning cheers,

learning the dance,

and having fun with the high school cheerios.

I got to see my friends Jessica and Fran today when they brought their Mini Me’s to the cheer clinic. So stinkin’ cute!

The trademark of the 2012 football cheer squad made a comeback – the kick line!

Learning how to pose….so cute!

The football cheerios were so excited to stunt tonight!

Poor Carly got fallen on during practice this morning and cut her nose pretty good. She’s a trooper and was back and ready to go tonight!

The big halftime performance!

The girls did the cheer “Who Rocks the House!”

And danced to “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction.

It was so fun to see the little cheerleaders singing along to the music and dancing like rockstars!

IMG_3672

The high school cheerios got to do a quarter cheer and stunt! YAY!

Of course, these two had to do a shoulder stand!

So sad to realize this was really really their last night cheering. When football season ended, we still got to look forward to cheer clinic night. Now that’s over too…I think I might just hold them back so they have to stay in high school a few more years. I’m not ready for them to graduate!

Great job today high school girls and little girls! Hope everyone had FUN! :)

.january bom.

I am going to be so sad when this mystery block of the month is over! I love getting the little package each month, cutting the fabric, sewing all those half square triangles, and putting them away in their box.

january bom

Not to mention all the extra Vintage Modern fabric that so generously comes in the kits!

This month’s block was designed by Bonnie & Camille – my faves!

.the week that was.

The first week back to work after Christmas break was full – a full five days and full of fun (note the sarcasm)!

It did go by fast – and now we’re on to week #2 post break. This will be another full week and we get to look forward to a 3-day weekend! YES!

Here are a few pictures from my phone this week…

Notre Dame was in the BCS Championship football game with Alabama. Esther, a ND alum, told me about these shirts she saw in the airport in Miami. They are too great!

photo 1

We had EOC testing this week for Biology, Geometry, and Algebra. The students who weren’t testing got to do extended STAT blocks – two 2-hour blocks each day. Madi got bored on the 2nd day and came to hang out in my office.

 photo 2

The end of the semester is quickly approaching, which means back to scheduling for me. Whoop whoop (again with the sarcasm!). Coffee helps ease the pain.

 photo 3

New iPhone 5 case! I love it!

 photo 4

I went to the basketball game on Friday night against Riverview (blech – Riverview!) – and the morph squad showed up! They are too much!!

I got this sweet text from Kate today…made my day! Love that girl!

Some of my friends are going through an unthinkable, heartbreaking situation right now – serious, living a nightmare. They have been at the forefront of my mind since I heard about their tragedy yesterday. Sending love and many many prayers.

Bring on the scheduling, finals, attendance appeals, and freaking cold weather this week!

.christmas break.

Christmas break has been absolutely wonderful! At the beginning of break – with two full weeks and three weekends – there were so many possibilities for what could fill that time. Now that it’s back to school tomorrow, some of our hopes were granted and some didn’t get to happen.

I got to visit with friends that I haven’t seen for a long time – Eric & Dottie, Jody, the Heider crew…watched a lot of movies, took naps, worked in the craft room, read a little bit, and watched 2 seasons of Gossip Girl on Netflix. Success. :)

I finished my first Dresden blocks and the quilt top they go on.

Naps all around!

New nail polish for back to school – inspired by Pinterest!

 photo 4

Samson laying on the couch is like kryptonite for me…makes me want to lie down with him and snuggle in. Going back to school is going to be brutal!

 photo 5

.craft day.

All break I was looking forward to January 5 – because it was craft day with friends! Jessica, Amy, & Kate were planning to come over to craft and chat and eat and laugh – always a favorite day! Jessica didn’t end up getting to come – darn committed momma’s making sure their little girls get to birthday parties!

We had a fun day – lots of everything I’d hoped for: crafting, chatting, eating, and laughing! I think we all got a lot done – in all of those categories!

Mom got a lot of play time with Kamryn in!

photo 1

I got a lot of “Marcie help you!”

 photo 2

 photo 3

Some iPad games – I think the 2 year old is teaching the 60 year old here. :)

 photo 4

I went out to Nick and Kate’s in the evening and we made dinner with a recipe I found on Pinterest! It was yummy and definitely a keeper. Kate & I agreed that adding pineapple would make it even better!

I cannot wait for the next craft day – which WILL include Jessica – and I think it WILL be a whole weekend long. YES!

. new years.

We spent New Year’s in Chelan again this year – with a smaller group than some years, but still lots of fun. It snowed as we unpacked the car and as we packed the car and that’s it. I didn’t feel great most of the time we were there and ended up with the flu on New Year’s Eve. I missed the big dinner and our shopping day – big bummer.

We got some card playing in – Rumoli, Spot It, and May I?.

photo 1

Lots of food, chatting, football game watching, napping, gaming, and generally being lazy and loving it!

Already looking forward to next year!

.pickle backs.

Yesterday, I got to go to the Tri-Cities with Nick, Kate, & Kamryn to run some errands and then meet up with the Clark’s!

Kamryn had super cute french braid pigtails – seriously adorable!

photo 1

It was so great to see Chris, Candace, Delt, & Libby! I was at the Lake this summer and missed seeing them, so it had been about 10 months since I’d seen Chris & the kids last. They are growing up so much!

 photo 2

 photo 3

These two are so cute together!

 photo 5

  photo 2

We left the kids with Dale & Ginger, Chris’ parents, and went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Even though it was past our birthdays, Candace took a quick ride on the saddle!

 photo 3

We went to the mega liquor store – did some browsing and a little beer tasting…

 photo 4

and then met up with Delt, Mari, and their friends at Uncle Sam’s Saloon. They had been there for quite a while and were having a grand old time! One of their friends ordered Pickle Backs – which look as nasty as they sound. I didn’t even have one and they still made me cringe. It was supposed to be a shot of whiskey followed by a shot of pickle juice – but they came already mixed together. Dis.Gust.Ting. Chris had THREE – and we made a quick getaway after the 3rd so he could get something to cleanse his palate. I think it’s permanently damaged after that nastiness.

It was so fun to get to be with Chris & Candace – but makes me really miss getting to be around them all the time. We are keeping our fingers crossed that they’ll come back to the area before too too long!!!
